We were planning on using rhinestones on our makeup look to create a more unique style. I brought the rhinestones and we concluded there was really no need to use them. As we were filming we realized it didn't fit the film.
In the film, we decided to make the "hot guy" leaned against the wall. Originally, we wanted the love interest to walk past kelly's character. We figured it would look smooth if kelly walked by him and we just show Matthews's eyes.
We were struggling to fit the 2-minute mark, so therefore we did have to cut out some things that weren't that prevalent. We were planning on having a cliche scene where kelly talks to her "dad" that she can't have breakfast because she's leaving. We filmed with Mia's dad, Tito, and the shots came out well. Although, it was only a supporting detail and was able to easily be cut.
We had this idea of having split cuts where Kelly walks into the bathroom wearing pajamas and then walks out with her outfits. Unfortunately, we didn't have a tripod so the shots would noticeably lack continuity.
When Britney wakes up she doesn't say "damnit". We thought it was too harsh for an opening to the film. Also, Britney never makes the bed and I think it shows how much of a rush kelly was in.
We decided to say all our lines in the car instead of getting out. It wouldn't make sense and would add too much wasted time. Also, we filmed this on a Saturday and of course there were no students and cars in the parking lot. It would be very noticeable if we were standing and the background of the parking lot was visible.
- Montage to the mall was cut and jumps straight to us walking in the mall.
