Planning process

January 18th, 2022, the beginning of our plot talk. We immediately jumped to pictures of chick flicks from popular movies. We noticed the wardrobe of girly clothing and makeup. We threw around the idea of going shopping for clothing as we would need to dress the theme.

Kelly and Barbara both proposed their storyline ideas and me and Mia added on to them and decided which one was more practical. Kelly’s idea was the beginning of the film have somebody pull the fire alarm and just walk away at school. We knew this would be too complicated and wasn’t easy to execute to the best. Barbara’s idea was to have a girl waking up in the morning from her alarm and getting ready for school quickly because she’s late. We all agreed this was very stereotypical and could definitely work for us. We all added to barbara’s idea and came up with a list of things we knew we wanted to include in the opening:

Because we have so many ideas we want to incorporate we're thinking time might be an issue. We each brought up ideas that we like that we want to include. For example, getting ready, the car drive, dialogue, and the love interest.
With the love interest, we need to figure out who will be our male. We discussed holding auditions as a joke, but I do believe that it would be a smart and fun way to select who will be lucky enough to be in this film.

The chick flicks could be for teenagers or older women.

Visual Elements

In chick flicks that are intended to make the viewer happy, there will be a lot of vibrant hues and bright lighting.  This expands on the perky theme being portrayed throughout the film. While, when the film is intended to make the reader emotional, there could be a lot of blue/greyish hues and dark lighting.
